How to Update cPanel?

In this article, we would like to inform you about how to update the Cpanel server.

First of all, we would like to state that there are two ways to do this;

1: Update via WHM
2: Update via SSH

1: Let's quickly talk about how to update via WHM.

First, let's log in to our WHM panel as root and then type update in the search section on the left.
There are 3 points you should pay attention to here;
"Updating the server software": This part upgrades the operating system with all its packages. If you don't know this, skip it.
"System update": This part forces the operating system to update. It would be better for you to do this manually.
"Upgrade to Latest Version": This is the right option for you. For this option, you can type "Upgrade to Latest Version" directly in the search section.

2: How to update via SSH, let's talk about that now.

Connect to your server via SSH, the most accurate program you can use for this process is "putty". Click to download Putty
After connecting, two methods are waiting for you.
First, do you want to update your server?

If your answer is yes, run the following command immediately; "sudo yum update -y" after this process is completed, "sudo yum upgrade -y"
Sometimes CloudLinux servers may give an error during the process. For this, add the "--nobest" code to the end of your command.
In other words, update as "sudo yum update -y --nobest" and update.

After completing these processes or if you say my server is already up to date: you can immediately move your Cpanel server to the latest version with the following command.
"/scripts/upcp --force"
This process may take a while, so be patient. Finally, when the process is completed, you need to restart your Cpanel server.
The command you will use for this process will be "/etc/init.d/cpanel restart".
